No Prisoner

Never pay attention to a bloody nose
Nor to a broken heart
Or things that time will never fix
Like a wrong turn in the road
Taken in a moment of lust
As we swaggered the streets of youth

Listening to the crunch of memories
Some sadly under our feet
We repent for some
And laugh at more than a few
And loathsome others, pray God
We’ll never see again

But it’s the chains we must break
Freely locked by our own jailers
Our timid minds and hearts
They possess the keys that stop us
From living our handsome dreams
Never be a Prisoner, live it as you will!
